Love’s Side Effects
Love’s Side Effects…A Poetic Journey Through the Hidden Psychological and Emotional Consequences of Love.
Song Audio:
Love’s Side Effects explores the emotional and psychological impact of love, from sleepless nights and obsession to heartbreak and poetic awakening.
Mmm Love is a hidden, sacred flame, It sets the trembling soul to aim, Everyone feels love’s silent claim., But no one knows what is this game? Mmm Everyone feels love’s silent claim, But no one knows what is this game? What is this game? Game… Love deeply, but know this too, It brings strange side effects to you, Sleepless nights will follow through, And dementia-like troubles in you Mmm If someone settles in your heart, Heartache troubles may start. Dreams may fade, and tears depart, Restless nights will play their part. If you roam streets to find someone, Madness may creep when day is done. If someone calls your name, with fun, Even your ears may fail to hear fun. When you feel a touch in dreams, Your body may burn with steam, You may drink plenty water of streams, Then a stomach problem arises betwee..n You’ll lose yourself in thoughts galore, People may call you mad or more... Your heart will battle, rich in store, Love’s side effects will shake your core….mm… All other people will seem so wrong, The shadow of a storm grows strong. Your heart will sing a sorrow song, And love’s side effects will linger long. Mmm No hunger, no thirst these days, Your body weakens in silent ways. Your mind will wander in a hazy maze, Love’s side effects will haunt your gaze…. Your eyes crave your beloved face, You search for them in every place. Then everyone calls you a crazy case, Love’s side effects leave a heavy trAAAce. You never heard a song before, Now you hear it more and more. You had never penned a single lore, Now you may write poetry even more.. Love is free from all these pains, It sees both losses and all gains. It grows onward, breaks the chains, Yet its side effects still bring strains... Mmm I have crossed this river of flames, Endured a few of love’s harsh games. Yet I never bowed, nor fell in shame For I already know love’s true aims. Mmm These side effects of love for me Have turned to blessings, like a sea. Within them, I discover who I’ll be, A poet of love awakens inside of me.ee.. Love affects the world, all of time, What love truly is, no one can define. It spreads a sickness, ancient, prime, And plants its secrets like a rhyme..m..m So, like me, you too should be, Love and love truly, endlessly. Whether you win or lose, let it be, A poet you’ll become, I guarantee.ee…e. Mmm Everyone feels love’s silent claim, But no one knows what is this game? What is this game…? Game..

A really evocative piece Dawnithic.
I love the way you framed love as something with “side effects.” It gradually transforms those symptoms — sleeplessness, madness, wandering — into something creative and sacred.
I also felt the repetition works beautifully as a pulse throughout the piece, especially the return to “Everyone feels love’s silent claim.” It feels almost like a chant — universal and intimate at the same time.
Great writing.
Love is an affliction indeed! I adored this line:
“You had never penned a single lore,
Now you may write poetry even more”
